Over the years I have spoken at many dozens of public events. If you would like to engage me as a speaker, e-mail me on this site. My speaker fees are very reasonable. For a look at one of my book talks, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r9owt8gAPA

Here's how it will go: Beginning with a discussion of and brief reading from a current work, I usually go on to speak about writing, research, writing memoir or fiction, the writing life, creativity, or any special topic related to your group. I conclude with a ten-minute Q/A. About 45-60 minutes total, which is about the time when people really need to get out of their seats.

NOTE TO BOOK GROUPS: I adore book groups and am tremendously grateful for them. I used to visit book groups for free, but because of the number of requests, I now charge an honorarium to cover time and travel. (I love meeting readers, but I loathe driving.)
